Watabaran Self-Development Organization, Nepal is working towards solving people’s problems. The organization was established in 2001 by Nepalese and Swedish youths. It is a social business in quest of sustainable trade.
Paper is recycled and high quality paper products such as; notebooks, document files, paper, envelopes and lampsha des which are exported and sold around the world.
This way the organization self-sustains and grows with profit used for expansion and education.
The organisation strives to create job opportunities for discriminated groups, women and orphans by making environment cleaner and working conditions better.
Garbage and waste paper are used as raw materials to create environment friendly products. This non- profit organisation produces recycle paper and lokhta paper handicrafts. The paper products are made in Watabaran Self Development Organisation located in Mandikatar in Kathmandu.
The organisation is looked after and run by the producers themselves.Presently there are 15 people working out of which seven are male and six females aged between 20-25 years. The producers are given various training that are supported by the organisation.
Watabaran Self Development organisation was established on November 2001 with the aim to create job opportunities for discriminated groups and help to create a better living environment for all. The main objective of the organisation is to create job opportunities for underprivileged people by making a cleaner environment and working conditions better. Other than Christmas Cards, the organisation produces recycled paper products like notebooks with paintings, files, business cards, photo album and calendar.
The organisation has produced mainly three designs of Christmas cards for this season. Christmas cards are made by handmade Nepali paper with different designs printed on each of them.
